A Colorado River cutthroat moves through swirling water, a streamer fly caught in its mouth. Brilliant golds, warm reds and distinctive dark spotting celebrate the remarkable coloring of this native Western trout, while loose washes and subtle sketches of fish beneath the surface suggest the constant movement and hidden life of the river.

Layered linework, fluid marks and expressive color bring together the energy of moving water and the intricate beauty of the fish itself. The Take celebrates the wild character of the Colorado River cutthroat and the fleeting connection between angler, trout and stream. Also, look for the little hidden trout sketches nestled in the background.
