Molly Box (McCarty) is an award-winning artist and graphic designer based in Wellington, Colorado, whose work celebrates the wildlife, waters, and wide-open spaces of the American West.

Best known for her expressive mixed media drawings and oil paintings, Molly draws inspiration from a lifetime spent outdoors. Growing up in Wyoming and now living in Colorado, she has developed a deep connection to Western landscapes and the animals that inhabit them. An avid angler and outdoorswoman, her work frequently explores North American wildlife, native fish, and the culture of fly-fishing.

At the heart of Molly's work is a simple idea: pay attention to where you are. Observe the landscape. Notice the wildlife. Get outside and experience the places that inspire you.

Her work moves between the West as it is and the West as she imagines it—from traditional wildlife and fly-fishing subjects to more playful pieces where trout patterns find their way onto bison, elk and bighorn sheep, and creatures of Western folklore wander alongside the real ones.

“I've never thought of the West as muted or static. To me, it's young, vibrant, colorful and constantly changing. My work is shaped by the places I've lived, the wildlife I've encountered, the rivers I've fished and the experiences I've had outside. Sometimes I paint what I see. Sometimes I paint what I wish I could see.”
